DMA / KyEM
With their headquarters based in Frankfort on the Boone National Guard Armory, the Department for Military Affairs/National Guard (DMA) and the Division of Emergency Management (KyEM) have been long standing costumers of KEWS.
In the effort to affectively communicate unilaterally during an emergency, KEWS provides the link to make it possible for DMA / KyEM to share a radio system that has 52 base stations through out the Commonwealth. KEWS also provides (607) phone extensions to their 14 area offices. In addition, the County Judges, Local Emergency Operations, Fire Marshall, Department of Natural Resources, RAD Health, Division of Fire Training, and the Regional HAZMAT Response Teams also use this same radio system. KyEM has two highly important systems that are supported by the KEWS network:
- The Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP), and
- The Integrated Flood Observing and Warning System (IFLOWS).
